ARE LEAVES ALREADY FALLING? USPS ON TIME PERCENTAGES ARE – A BIT.
Postal service performance was down in every category we measure – not by precipitous amounts, but showing a continuing descent that we expect to see as fall volumes begin to increase. On-time service was poorer than last week, and generally failed to meet YTD performance, generally indicative of a worsening trend. Still pretty green around here, but with most primaries wrapping up, we expect to see a steady increase in political mail over the coming months.
These are minor declines and not worthy of any panic at this point but do keep an eye on delivery times. Weakest areas have so far been South New Jersey and the upper Midwest – Minnesota and Michigan in particular.
