HOT WEATHER AND OUR NATION’S BIRTHDAY
To honor our country's birthday, letters beat YTD averages pretty handily, both in First-Class Mail and Marketing Mail. Flats were somewhat less patriotic, with on-time performance that was worse than the YTD averages.
Still, performance stayed fairly steady at its summertime averages.
The hot weather reminds us that summer weather events will create pockets of delay that are, hopefully, short-lived as the summer goes on. For now, you can head on back to the beach — the mail's just fine.
