A MODERATELY SLOW WEEK FOR USPS
Spring is rarely kind to the mail. Historically, it’s the second-slowest period of the year, with only the pre-holiday crush performing worse.
This week followed the script. Performance slipped a bit compared with last week, although it still came in better than the same period in 2025. Stormy weather across the Upper Midwest likely contributed to some of the slowdown.
Last week’s results also fell short of the current year-to-date average. Even so, 2026 continues to outperform 2025 overall. We still have a long road back to the service levels seen in 2022, but for now the trend line continues to move in the right direction.
