ENOUGH IMPROVEMENT TO BE PLEASED

Not a bad week for the Postal Service.  They outperformed YTD numbers in First-Class Mail, as well as the numbers from a year ago.  They continue their tiny improvements over 2025, appear to be getting better in both regards – month-over-month and year-over-year.  Performance is not where it should be – we are still a long way from what performance was in 2022, but direction offers hope.

In 2022, it was rare for fewer than 90% of First-Class letters to be delivered on time.  In 2026, it is rare for First-Class letter performance to be more than 90%.

No exceptional areas this month – the system seems to be operating, albeit a little slowly.
